Looking back on our first year at Devugees

On 26 July 2016 we held our first info session. where we hosted around 70 newcomers at our partner Sofatutor’s office to present our two courses:

1) 4-week orientation into tech jobs, and

2) 1-year web development course, which consists of 9 months of on-campus learning and a 3-month internship at one of the coolest tech companies.

Today we are proud of what we have achieved, in the past year we have successfully completed:

6 batches of orientation courses in Berlin and 2 in Düsseldorf.

Also, we currently run 4 one-year web development courses in Berlin and 1 in Düsseldorf with over 100 students from 13 countries.

Together with our students we have visited more than 50 tech companies in both Berlin and Düsseldorf.

Of course, code without caffeine doesn’t work. So we have returned more than 600 Pfandflaschen from our last 50 info sessions held every Wednesday in Berlin and every Thursday in Düsseldorf.

It wouldn’t have been possible without the help of our amazing team and partners, so we would like to thank every one of you for your kind support for the past year and we are looking forward to working with all of you to bring more people into digital jobs in Germany!

The first year has been the initial steps of a marathon of education and integration. We truly believe that DCI with its program “Devugees” can leave a mark and help to educate the future tech talents for the digital scene.
